A NEW FACILITY MEANS A NEW APPROACH TO CLINICIAN COLLABORATION
20 December 2018

When one of the largest public hospital systems in the country opened a state-of-the-art, 2.8 million square-foot addition, making sure the nursing staff could remain in constant communication was a challenge. The sheer size of the new patient floor area at Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, Texas (about as big as two football fields) necessitated a shift from a centralized care model to a decentralized one, which meant many fewer opportunities for face-to-face interactions among the staff. The lack of a centralized location also meant clinicians needed another way to receive critical alerts and alarms from patient monitoring devices.

To help the nursing staff stay connected and in constant communication, Parkland Health & Hospital System turned to Zebra for a clinical mobility solution that included MC40-HC handheld mobile computing devices and Zebra’s Workforce Connect Voice client.

You can learn more about how these solutions have helped improve staff efficiency and patient care in our new sucsess story.
